EET 2.0: Logging In via DIS+ and the Registration Unit

The Chamber of Deputies passed the EET 2.0 act on 15 July 2026 and it is heading to the Senate; the start date remains 1 January 2027. We covered the legislative journey in our summer 2026 summary. This time we'll look at the practical side: the Financial Administration (Finanční správa) has already published dozens of answers in its frequently asked questions section on how you'll log into the system, what a registration unit is, and what will happen with cash register certificates. These are exactly the things worth sorting out in autumn 2026, not in January under pressure.
Where EET 2.0 Will Be Managed: DIS+ on the MOJE dane Portal
Unlike the original EET, which had its own web application for managing certificates, the new sales records system will be managed in the Tax Information Box Plus (DIS+) on the MOJE dane portal. In other words, the same place where you already file tax returns or control statements today.
According to the Financial Administration's answer, you can log into the system in three ways:
- Citizen Identity (Identita občana) (bank identity, the eGovernment Mobile Key, the eID card, and others),
- data box (datová schránka) access credentials,
- access credentials assigned by the tax office.
If none of these access methods works for you, it's the first task on your list. Bank identity is the fastest route for most self-employed people (OSVČ) and also comes in handy for the rest of your agenda on the MOJE dane portal – we have a guide in our article on the MOJE dane portal.
How to Activate Sales Records Step by Step
Logging in alone is not enough. Sales records must be activated in DIS+ as a one-off step. The procedure according to the Financial Administration's FAQ looks like this:
📋Activating EET 2.0 in DIS+
Authorisation for Accountants
A client's DIS+ can also be accessed under an authorisation. If you keep records for clients, bear in mind that after the authorisation is activated, the start of sales recording must still be confirmed separately in the client's box, otherwise the Sales Records tab will not appear. The Financial Administration has also published separate answers for problems accessing the EET section in these situations.
What a Registration Unit Is
A new term the act works with is the registration unit (evidenční jednotka) – put simply, the place where you sell goods or provide services. According to the Financial Administration's interpretation, it can be:
📊Types of Registration Units
For an ordinary self-employed person, this means a simple line of thinking: a hairdresser with her own salon will have the salon as her registration unit, a plumber travelling between jobs will record under his registered office. We'd also remind you of the basic rule of the whole system: only contact payments are recorded – cash, card, or a QR payment during personal contact with the customer. Bank transfers and invoice payments are not subject to recording, as confirmed by the Ministry of Finance. Anyone who only invoices to a bank account doesn't need to activate the Sales Records tab at all.
Old Cash Registers and Certificates: What Applies
The good news from the system's original unveiling still holds: cash register equipment purchased for the original EET can also be used for EET 2.0, and the smallest entrepreneurs will get the Financial Administration's web recording application free of charge, running on a phone, tablet, or computer, as the Financial Administration states.
On certificates, the Financial Administration has added several technical clarifications in the FAQ, of interest mainly to businesses with their own cash register:
- Cash register certificates with a 2048-bit key will be usable at first, but a transition to stronger keys (3072 or 4096 bits) is planned for the future.
- The transition to a stronger certificate will, according to the Financial Administration's answer, be required no later than around 2030, or when renewing a certificate if the existing one no longer meets security standards.
- The Financial Administration will announce the deadlines through official channels – so there's no need to monitor anything on your own, but when buying a new cash register it pays to verify with the supplier that the device supports stronger keys.
Buying a New Cash Register This Year?
If you plan to buy or replace cash register equipment before EET 2.0 starts, ask the supplier for confirmation that it supports certificates with 3072/4096-bit keys. You'll save yourself a replacement in a few years.
Autumn 2026 Checklist
The system starts on 1 January 2027 and the final wording of the act is still up to the Senate. But nothing is blocking your administrative preparation right now:
📋What to Sort Out by the End of the Year
Conclusion
Administratively, EET 2.0 rests on infrastructure most entrepreneurs already know: the MOJE dane portal and DIS+. Anyone who sorts out their login and box activation in the autumn won't be surprised by January 2027. And anyone who accepts only payments to a bank account doesn't have to deal with anything at all.
