What Is MOJE daně
MOJE daně is the official online portal of the Czech Financial Administration, which you use to communicate with your local tax office. It replaced the older ADIS / EPO interface (which is still running in parallel).
It's mainly used for:
- Filing tax forms electronically (income tax returns, VAT, road tax, property tax)
- VAT control statements – mandatory for every VAT payer
- Tax information mailbox (DIS+) – where you can see all your outstanding balances, overpayments, instalments, and filing history
- Communicating with the tax office – requests for instalment plans, penalty waivers, responses to notices
- Downloading confirmations (of no outstanding debts, VAT registration, etc.)
How to Log In (4 Ways)
1. Data Box (recommended for OSVČ with a mandatory data box)
If you have a data box set up by law (mandatory for every OSVČ since 1 January 2023), this is the simplest option. Click "Log in via data box" → you'll be redirected to the datovaschranka.gov.cz portal → log in → you're taken back to MOJE daně.
2. Bank Identity (free, fast)
If you hold an account with one of these banks: Air Bank, ČSOB, Česká spořitelna, Fio, Komerční banka, MONETA, or Raiffeisenbank. Click "Bank Identity" → select your bank → log in to your internet banking → confirm.
3. NIA – National Identity Authority
- eObčanka (electronic ID card with a chip) + card reader
- eGovernment mobile key (a mobile app)
- Biometric ID cards (newly issued from 2025)
4. Tax Office Login Credentials
The traditional username and password. You need to request them via a paper application at your local tax office (takes 1-2 weeks). This is a fallback if you have no data box, bank account, or NIA option.
What You Can Do in MOJE daně
| Action | Frequency | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| File a tax return | 1x per year (by 1 April or 2 May) | 30-60 min |
| File a VAT control statement | monthly (by the 25th) | 5-10 min (from your accounting) |
| File a VAT return | monthly/quarterly | 5-10 min |
| View outstanding balances and overpayments | anytime | instant |
| Download a confirmation of no outstanding debts | anytime | 1 min |
| Communicate with the tax office (requests, responses) | as needed | depends on content |
DIS+ – Tax Information Mailbox
DIS+ is the enhanced version of the tax mailbox, which proactively shows you:
- Current account status (outstanding balances/overpayments with all penalties and interest)
- Advance payment due dates for income tax and social/health insurance
- Filing history (when you filed what, and what was processed)
- Notices and decisions from the tax office – delivered directly in DIS+ instead of by post
- Payment schedules, if you have an approved instalment plan
From 1 November 2026, DIS+ will add an EET 2.0 feature – generating certificates for the sales register (launching 1 January 2027). Read more in our EET 2.0 guide.
Common Problems and Solutions
"I can't log in via bank identity"
Your bank probably doesn't have bank identity activated – check in your internet banking. Some older banks don't support it; the solution is to set up NIA or a data box instead.
"My data box doesn't work for MOJE daně"
You likely have a different type of data box than the one needed for self-employment. A private data box for individuals is not the same as a data box for a self-employed person (OSVČ). For tax purposes, use the data box for self-employed individuals.
"I can't see anything after filing my return"
Processing takes 1-3 business days. If your return contains an error, the tax office will send a notice – you'll see it in DIS+ under "Correspondence."
Frequently Asked Questions
Is MOJE daně free?
Yes, 100% free. It's run by the Czech Financial Administration.
Do I have to file electronically?
Yes, if you have a data box (which applies to every OSVČ and every s.r.o. since 1 January 2023). The tax office will not accept a paper filing in that case.
What if I don't have internet access?
The law provides exceptions for people without the technical means to file online. You can request a paper filing at your local tax office, but in practice this is difficult to arrange.
Can I access my tax information without being self-employed?
Yes, as a private individual you can log in via bank identity or NIA. You'll see only your personal matters (income tax from employment, withholding tax, property tax).
How often is MOJE daně updated?
In real time for most items. Outstanding balances and interest are recalculated daily.
